Classes I - XII

Dear Parents,

First of all we would like to thank you for the concern you expressed over Harvard House High School as the venue for our school Sports. We truly appreciate the proactive behaviour you displayed. We have received many offers of help and we are happy to be able to tell you that the new venue is St. Thomas Boys’ School. We owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Pankaj Bansal, the father of a student of our school, who on 15th December, and on his own initiative, booked St. Thomas Boys’ School on our behalf.

The new venue implies that the contents of notice nos. 95 and 97 are nullified and you are requested to ignore the same. Please make a note of the following :

1. The new venue for our Sports Day is St. Thomas Boys’ School, Kidderpore,
Kolkata

2. Sports practice will be held on Monday 22nd December and Sports Day will be on
Tuesday 23rd December 2014.

3. The primary section will no longer have a separate Sports Day. Sports Day will be
on 23rd December 2014 for classes I to XII as is our usual practice.

4. Since we now have a new venue and its facilities, participation in Sports is no longer
optional but mandatory like every year.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to all on Saturday 13th December and hope that, as in other years, this year too you enjoy our schools Sports Day.

Thank you,

Notice no.95/2014-15
15th December, 2014

Classes V - XII

Dear Parents,

We write to you regarding the venue of this year’s Annual Sports i.e. Harvard House High School at South Tangra Road. At the very outset let me tell you we quite understand your dismay at the shabby and inconvenient location and let me give you a line by way of explanation. We consider 3 venues appropriate for our school, SAI at Salt Lake, Rabindra Sarovar and Geetanjali Stadium. The first two had no toilet facilities as the toilets are undergoing renovation. We could not consider a venue which did not have toilet facilities. Geetanjali Stadium was booked all through December and therefore not available to us. We enquired of various other schools which have large grounds but they were reluctant to let it out to us for various reasons.

It was with extreme reluctance that we decided on the present venue since not having Annual Sports this year was also not a viable option.

Some of you have expressed your unhappiness with the venue but many of you have accepted the situation with equanimity which we appreciate greatly.

For those who strongly feel on this issue, please note that participation in this year’s Sports is optional. Should you not want your daughter to participate in this year’s Sports, please send a letter / email to me by tomorrow 16th December and your daughter will be excused.

Thank you,
Yours sincerely,

Notice no.92/2014-15
9th December, 2014

Classes I – XII

Dear Parents,

This notice is regarding our Annual Sports which has been scheduled for Tuesday 23rd December. Apart from the Final Day we shall be having sports practice at the venue on Saturday 13th and Saturday 20th December 2014.

While the details of timings etc. will be given to you in a separate notice the main purpose of this notice is to acquaint you with our venue for this year’s Sports Day which is Harvard House High School.

This year the three venues we consider suitable i.e. Rabindra Sarovar, SAI Salt Lake and Geetanjali Stadium are unavailable for various reasons. It is after a great hunt for an alternative venue that Harvard House High School finally became available to us. This school has extensive grounds which will prove adequate for our needs. However the location of the school and the access road leave much to be desired and we have to organize ourselves so that we cause least inconvenience to all concerned.

The address of the school is :

Harvard House High School
18 South Tangra Road
(New name : Maheswari Tala Lane)
Kolkata – 700 046
(Opp: Armenian Church)

A road map is attached for your help.

Please note that the access road Chandra Dey Road is very crowded, virtually a continuous market place, and Maheswaritala Road on which the school is situated is a very narrow lane. Therefore please comply with the following :

● Please refer to the map to avoid a traffic jam
● Please carpool so that the number of cars destined for the venue is reduced
● Please note that there is absolutely no car parking facility on the Chandra Dey Road or
Maheswaritala Road. Your cars will have to drop off your children and return for them.

We are coordinating with the local Police Station for assistance but we request parents also to volunteer in coordinating the traffic at the venue. We seek your help and cooperation to ensure a successful Sports Day.

Yours sincerely,
